Beloved Hello Kitty ハローキティ

When I was a little princess (giggle) Hello Kitty was the epitome of cuteness, sweetness and innocence and still is...I remember seeing this beloved Japanese character for the first time as a girl and asked, "Why doesn't she have a mouth?"

It didn't matter though, I thought she was the cutest thing I'd ever seen. I absolutely adored her big red bow, blue jumper and yellow shirt. She made primary colors cool...As a kid, before Hello Kitty I only liked the super girly palettes of pink and purple...

One of my most fondest memories involved Hello Kitty...I remember it was my older sister's birthday. She got a Hello Kitty doll house and I was in awe! I begged my mother, "pretty pleeeeease buy me one too!!!" And to my surprise, she actually went out and brought me one, on my sisters birthday!! I KNOW RIGHT?!...

That was totally awesome of my Mom, and it wasn't like we had money growing on trees and that's why that moment was sooooo special to me. My Mom and older sisters claim that I was so excited, I ripped the packaging off with my teeth. I don't recall doing that, but I don't doubt that I did....The house came with a little plastic Hello Kitty doll and we played with her so much, that we wore her little face off. Well, we wore her eye's and nose off cause she never had a mouth, LOL...

It was the first and only time my mother had ever brought me something the very same day I asked for it. Matter of fact, most of the things I really wanted, I rarely got, LOL...She knew she had to get it for me though, cause that doll house was too epic and it would have been cruel for her not to buy me one as well. So, shout out to my Mama, I love you! Muah...

Over the years as I grew into an adult, me and Miss Kitty lost touch, sorta like in the movie "Toy Story" (but she has been long gone from my toy chest). I never ever stopped loving her though. Occasionally I would see her on merchandise in stores or on my little nieces shirt and would squeal, "OOOOOH, HELLO KITTY!!" like I was 5 years old again.

As I've changed over the years it seems that Hello Kitty has changed too. She had acquired a cute pink bow (Or did she always have one?) Besides Barbie, Miss Kitty was quite the fashionista. Even rockin' a sweet flower at times instead of a bow...

Pssssst, I have a secret. I'll tell you if you promise not to judge...Okay, ready?...I didn't know Hello Kitty had a gang of friends!! I just discovered that about ten years ago. It's sorta like the Pokemon cartoon, I only know of Pikachu....One of  Hello Kitty's friends is Chococat, a cute little black kitty that's just as adorable as Hello herself....So thank you Kitty White for one of the best memories of my childhood. 平和　（へいわ）
